Title wins, promotions and a new stadium project for CAP Ciudad de Murcia

It has been an incredibly busy and exciting few weeks on the eastern coast of Spain, in particular for our Erasmus+ partners CAP Ciudad de Murcia!

The club revealed a plan for a new foundation and stadium project in March, and followed the announcement with promotion for both their women’s and men’s teams in the weeks since. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Having seen the men’s team suffer relegation last May, Ciudad de Murcia vowed to come back even stronger and what a 12 months it has been.

On April 15, the club’s women’s side were crowned champions and promoted to the second division courtesy of a 3-1 win over Muleño Féminas.

A week later, on April 22, a 1-1 draw with Olímpico de Totana was enough to see the men’s team clinch the title and promotion straight back to the Tercera división (4th tier) – all with three games to play!

Ciudad De Murcia has existed as a supporter-owned club since 2010 and announced plans to build their own stadium and facilities of its own earlier this year, with the help of a crowdfunding campaign.

The objective is to bring all football activities (men’s and women’s team) together and have a permanent base of all of its extensive community work.
